This week’s TWD is for Chocolate Tartlets- 6 mini tarts. I only have a large tart pan, so I just made one big tart.
The recipe starts out with a chocolate pastry dough for the crust. It says to remove the bottom of the pan, but I didn’t do that.
The filling is a made up whipped egg yolks (lots) and sugar folded into melted butter and chocolate.
The recipe calls for chopped biscotti for the filling, but I used cinnamon cookies sprinkled on top instead of folded in the filling batter.
The tart is delicious- it wasn’t fudgey like I thought it would be. It was smooth and creamy and was a hit at home and with some friends!
Steph, Spike, Jaime and Jessica will have the recipe!
The cookies sprinkled on too were a nice touch. This was a delicious tart, for sure!
Gorgeous tart, and great idea to sprinkle the cookies on top! Glad to meet another California girl. 🙂
Cinnamon cookies is a great add-in. They look so pretty on top. I was also thinking it would taste good with a cookie layer on the bottom of the shell. Your blog header is so cute!
In retrospect, I wish I had thought to make one tart. Looks great.
YUM! This looks great! Love the addition of the cookies on top!
I like the cookies on top!
Your tart looks great! I'm with everyone else, the cookies sprinkled on top is a great idea, and I bet the cinnamon was delicious!
beautiful tart!
I didn't remove the pan either. Your crust looks very nice. Mine was a little bit crumbly. You chose a great cookie. Love it!
Looks like your tart turned out great! The cinnamon cookies were probably really tasty!
Cinnamon cookies inside sound great!
Cinnamon cookies! What a great idea! Looks terrific!
Easy to see why this was a big hit!
I didn't remove the bottoms of the tart pans either. Didn't understand why you would do that. Love these though–and the 8 egg yolks was one of the biggest reasons I only made 1/4 of the recipe!
Hmmm. Cinnamon cookies. Great idea. And a beautiful tart.
Nice shots.~ Carmen http://bakingismyzen.wordpress.com
Everyone has so many creative variations on this one – things to add in or put on top – could keep me busy for a long time trying them all! Your tart is lovely.
Looks great, I bet the cookies were delicious in it!
I love the idea of using cinnamon cookies in this – sort of like Mexican chocolate. Thanks for baking along with me this week!
I love your colorful, happy blog. TWD is so much fun!!!
