For an adult’s birthday luncheon (not to be confused with an adult birthday- this is a family joint), this pink quilted purse cake was made from stacking halved sheet cakes and carving the edges to look more like a purse. I pieced the fondant on each side and quilted it. Then I rubbed it with shortening to make it look like shiny leather. The chain was made from links and strips of fondant laid on top of each other to look like it was linked together.
Cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream.
